Morning Intention Technique

Each morning I make an effort to meditate, to get still, to set my intention for the day and to invoke the wisdom of my guides and angels to work through me. I have found that making my alter, adorned with my vision board, quotes, statues of Buddhas, dolphins, eagle feathers, crystals, stones, a crystal lotus, a bamboo plant, my pendulum, sage, and decks of cards ... grounds me and brings me inspiration to begin my day. I have 5 decks of cards that I use to receive direction and clarity. I find them incredibly useful and spot on. They respond to my intention and I trust my intuition to guide me to pick the perfect card. I have Angel Cards (from Doreen Virtue), Animal Medicine Cards, Affirmation Cards (by Louise Hay), and an incredible deck called Ascended Masters (also by Doreen Virtue) which guide me each morning. I use several other decks of cards during my client coaching sessions, but I keep those separate from my personal ones.

No matter how many years I have been using cards and card decks to access my higher wisdom, direction and intuition, I continually marvel in the accuracy of the ones I pick. I chuckle and give thanks to my guides, feeling their presence and support along my life's journey. I feel them and hear them through the cards I pick each morning.

For the last two weeks, I have been continually picking the same two cards. No matter how many times I shuffle the deck, I seem to be attracting the same messages. "Artistic Expression" and "Write". With this blatant reminder, I decided to begin writing my book. It is a vision I have had ever since I began to write and I feel the time is now to begin putting it together.

Deeply nudged by the card's messages, I went into the crawl space of our basement this past weekend and pulled out the crate that contains over 30 journals that I have written about my healing, the search for mySELF, my apprenticeship with a Spiritual Teacher, my out of body experiences, relationships, vision quests, and my dreams. My eyes were attracted to the top journal which I began to read first. It was one of my Gratitude Journals that I wrote in 1998. As I read it, I was reminded of my conscious connection to my Higher Source. I was reminded of how much I have changed since then. I was reminded of my cat, Pinon, and my love for him. I was reminded of my grandmother and all the beautiful gifts she gave me - some wanted lessons, some wanted insights, and some unwanted behaviors. I began the process of opening myself and RE-MEMBERING my journey.

Thanks to the Ascended Master's card deck, I am nudged to open myself to myself - even deeper. And, in the process, I open myself to you. Which will hopefully encourage you to open yourself to yourself. And we will all be better off for it.
